About the Project

Video games are a popular form of engagement among people across nations, class, and gender. "Digital Borderlands: Glocalizing Iranian Video Games" is an ongoing project that seeks to disrupt the perception that games are mostly made in the West. By centering games made by the Iranian culture industry, I seek to show how games are not only popular forms of entertainment but are digital spaces where identities become constructed, expressed, and even contested.
